Create & Print Your Own Customized Event Program
Directions:
As an event planner it’s your job to take care of every detail down to the smallest details like designing and printing the program for the evening. In this article I’m going to show you how to create a small booklet that you can create and print on your home computer.
One booklet consists of:
- Title Page, back page, and 6 content pages (Half a page each)
- 1 Sheets of plain white paper
- 1 Sheet of heavier card stock
- 1 length of stretchy cord, available at most dollar stores or a stapler
This is what the booklet looks like when it’s separated:

How to do it:
Because of how the pages get laid out once you fold them into a book, the positing of each page can be confusing. To make it easier for you I’ve created my own template that you can download to use with Microsoft Office 2007. The template provided certainly doesn’t look very pretty- but once you put all your own text and graphics in, I’m sure it will look great.
Download Template for Office 2007
Now create your content. If you use the provided template, be careful as you add new lines because it will “push” all the other lines below it pushing content onto a different page then you meant to. Also, because the pages have be typed in “out of sequence” this pushing to a new section will mess up the layout of the whole book.
Page 1 will be on the heavy stock. Print page 2 on the backside of that same page. Page 3 will be printed on the plain white paper, with page 4 being printed on the backside of that same page.
Fold your pages in half. You can then staple the pages down the middle, or tie them together using a length of stretchy cord.
And now you’re done one booklet… Time to print, fold, and tie a cord around the rest of them for the rest of your guests! Recruit loved ones and friends to improve your productivity.
